Whitfield’s season in doubt after achilles injury
It was reported by Comcast Sports New England that Whitfield sustained the injury while working out. Whitfield played 20 games, including four playoff games, in the 09-10 season for Boston and registered just one assist. In 52 games with the Providence Bruins, of the AHL, he tallied 17 goals for 43 points.

Player Projection: Milan Lucic
NHLHS Boston Bruins Correspondent Brandon Macdonald presents his player projection story. This upcoming season, Brandon feels Milan Lucic will have a breakout season for Boston.
It was supposed to be the season where Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic pushed his game to the next level, but instead saw his point totals drop drastically as he succumbed to multiple injuries.

Bruins Report: Bearing with Peter Chiarelli
NHLHS Boston Bruins correspondent Brandon Macdonald discusses the Bruins off-season to date.
In an offseason that has seen the Boston Bruins select Tyler Seguin second overall and acquire goal-scoring winger Nathan Horton it’s hard to believe the team is still somewhat in turmoil.

Bruins GM Chiarelli Fills Void on the Wing
The NHL offseason is always an exciting experience for NHL writers and bloggers a like. With many roster moves, personnel changes and even the chance of relocation it leaves a plethora of breaking news.
The Boston Bruins wasted no time after naming Cam Neely President last week and today GM Peter Chiarelli swung a deal with the Florida Panthers that saw Welland, Ont., native Nathan Horton make the move to Boston, along with winger Gregory Cambpell. Going to Florida is defenseman Dennis Wideman and two draft picks, including the Bruins 15th overall selection.

The Tallon Era Has Begun
In case you have missed it, Dale Tallon has finally struck as the General Manager for the Florida Panthers.
As reported by Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger’s twitter accounts, the Florida Panthers have acquired Dennis Wideman, the 15th overall pick and a later round draft pick at the upcoming NHL Entry Draft on Friday in Los Angeles.
In return, the Boston Bruins received Gregory Campbell and Nathan Horton.
Now, we have to see the direction Tallon takes this team, and the other thing to watch is the salary cap situation in Boston as they are now extremely close, if not over the cap.

Neely gets White House promotion in Beantown
NHLHS Boston Bruins correspondent Brandon Macdonald reports on the Boston Bruins and their promoting Cam Neely as the team’s eighth President in their history.
After just three seasons serving as the Boston Bruins Vice President, the Bruins have named Cam Neely the eighth President in team history. It is only fitting that he is the eighth in team history, considering his number eight is retired at the Garden.
“I am honored and proud to be named the eighth team President in Boston Bruins history today,” Neely told Bruins.com. “The last three seasons working in the Bruins front office has been an experience that I have truly enjoyed each and every day. We have made great strides as an organization in recent years both on and off the ice. But having said that, we understand much more progress can be made, and much more progress needs to be made if we are able to meet our ultimate objectives. As President, I embrace these challenges that lie ahead and look forward to taking this organization to new heights.”

Bruins and Flyers – Summer Classic
NHLHS Boston Bruins Correspondent, Brandon Macdonald, discusses the second round match-up between the Philadelphia Flyers and Bruins.
The second round will see the Boston Bruins face off against the Philadelphia Flyers. This is the story about two teams that faced completely different scenarios throughout the regular season.
The Bruins were not capable of putting together consistent offensive scenarios, where the Flyers could not keep a goalie in the net as long as it takes to make a pot of coffee.
The season series between the Bruins and Flyers was split at 2-2. The Bruins took the last meeting between the teams by a score of 5-1. The most memorable game of both team’s season came on New Year’s Day when the two teams faced off in the annual Winter Classic. Philly thought they had everything wrapped up until Mark Recchi tied it up with just over two minutes remaining. The rest involves Marco Sturm but we don’t need to get in to that now.

Bruins Keys to Playoff Success
Newest talent to NHLHS, Brandon Macdonald, discusses the success of the Boston Bruins and why they are heading into the semi-finals of the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It was a playoff series that featured the world’s best goaltender and one of the rising stars on the backend. The majority of experts, when making their playoff picks, chose the Buffalo Sabres to roll over the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs.
Things did not go as planned, as they rarely do, and the Bruins were able to pass the Sabres in six games without the help of number one center and offensive playmaker Marc Savard. ‘Savvy’, who is a large piece of the Bruins puzzle, has been out since March 7, when Penguins’ forward Matt Cooke threw the infamous check that led to Savard missing the remaining games of the regular season and well into these playoffs as he still hasn’t returned.

It Keeps Getting Better
Five days in, seven overtime games and ten road wins later, the playoffs have been all that we could expect and more.
In what has been discussed time and time again, the National Hockey Leagues second season, also known as the Stanley Cup Playoffs, is all about goaltending.
Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings, Brian Boucher of the Philadelphia Flyers, Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks, Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins, Ilya Bryzgalov of the Phoenix Coyotes, Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres, Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators, Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils, Evgeni Nabokov of the San Jose Sharks, Marc-Andre Fleury of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Antti Niemi of the Chicago Blackhawks, Brian Elliot of the Ottawa Senators, Jimmy Howard of the Detroit Red Wings, Jaroslav Halak of the Montreal Canadiens, Craig Anderson of the Colorado Avalanche as well as both Jose Theodore and Seymon Varlamov of the Washington Capitals have not only stepped up to make some amazing saves but have been able to keep each and every series even or close enough to it.
