Excellent writeup Joe. For some reason Pittsburgh is at a +120 line, no clue about that considering the flu bug going around in Boston.
But I digress..
I will most likely be flipping between the Pens and the Rangers game, just to see if Mark Stuart or Thornton try to rip Sid’s head off…
someone’s gonna end up on a stretcher on their way to the hospital and we all have campbell to thank for that. precedent or not, at some point you gotta be a man and make a decision. don’t try to sugar coat your reputation by not going against the grain. look at the moore/bertuzzi incident. that was a complete collapse from the nhl head office to the refs who didn’t even call an interference penalty right down to the teams management. everyone knew what was gonna happen, yet no one did anything to prevent it. we’ll see what happens tonight.
It was strange how the buildup was overkill. But then again I think the coaches / players were probably warned ahead of time that the league office would levy heavy fines / suspensions if it got out of control. After Thornton & Cooke had their early dance things were pretty calm, with only Chara v Rupp the rest of the way.
Glad to see that no Bruins went after the Pen’s star players, especially late when outcome was already determined.
