Another chance for Zherdev to make mark with Flyers

After being waived just over a week ago, it was believed that Zherdev had played his last game in Philadelphia. But with injuries to forwards and the offensive tools that Zherdev brings to the table, he will instead likely be playing the left side on a line with Claude Giroux and Jeff Carter.

Holmgren shopping; Flyers targeting ‘Canes Cole

Even though the Flyers sit at the top of the heap in the NHL's overall standings, it appears they will not be sitting still and resting on the laurels of the first 50 games. Make no mistake, Holmgren is looking to bolster the club's lineup heading into the playoffs, and he will make a deal at some point prior to the trade deadline.

When a team hits the skids, it takes the captain to set the example and lead the way. After the Philadelphia Flyers had lost their last three games, all at home, the man wearing the "C" did just that tonight. And the rest of the club followed.
