To avoid arbitration, Zach Parise signs for one year

Flyers add Versteeg for picks

From training camp on, it was apparent that Holmgren was searching to add a right handed-shooting, playoff-proven winger to his team. He tried out Bill Guerin in training camp and tried to land Jamie Langenbrunner, neither worked out. He got his guy today in Kris Versteeg.

Holmgren shopping; Flyers targeting ‘Canes Cole

Even though the Flyers sit at the top of the heap in the NHL's overall standings, it appears they will not be sitting still and resting on the laurels of the first 50 games. Make no mistake, Holmgren is looking to bolster the club's lineup heading into the playoffs, and he will make a deal at some point prior to the trade deadline.

Rumors were being bandied about all during the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils Thursday night that Devils' captain Jamie Langenbrunner is on the verge of being dealt. One possible destination making the rounds in the rumor mill is Philadelphia.
