Bruins Report: Bearing with Peter Chiarelli
NHLHS Boston Bruins correspondent Brandon Macdonald discusses the Bruins off-season to date.
In an offseason that has seen the Boston Bruins select Tyler Seguin second overall and acquire goal-scoring winger Nathan Horton it’s hard to believe the team is still somewhat in turmoil.

Bruins GM Chiarelli Fills Void on the Wing
The NHL offseason is always an exciting experience for NHL writers and bloggers a like. With many roster moves, personnel changes and even the chance of relocation it leaves a plethora of breaking news.
The Boston Bruins wasted no time after naming Cam Neely President last week and today GM Peter Chiarelli swung a deal with the Florida Panthers that saw Welland, Ont., native Nathan Horton make the move to Boston, along with winger Gregory Cambpell. Going to Florida is defenseman Dennis Wideman and two draft picks, including the Bruins 15th overall selection.

Flyers Defining Meaning of “Team”, Force Game Six
NHLHS writer David Strehle takes a look at Philadelphia’s big 4-0 victory in Boston Monday night to again avoid elimination, and examines the process of how an inconsistent Flyers team may be coming together just at the right time.
The Philadelphia Flyers have had some special teams through the years, teams that hold a place in the heart of the Philly faithful. Even teams that have not won the Stanley Cup are held in high esteem, right up there with the Cup-winners of 1974 and 1975.

Gagne Returns, Keeps Flyers Alive with OT Winner in Game Four
NHLHS writer David Strehle recounts the thrilling game four overtime victory that saved the Flyers’ season. And the hero, as in game one of this series, was a player returning from injury.
The National Hockey League playoffs provide a tremendous amount of high drama and a certain element of theater. The first four games of the series between the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins are a testament to that fact.
Two contests have gone to overtime, and in each, a player coming back from an injury has made a triumphant return and scored the dramatic game-winning goal in the extra session.

Bruins Keys to Playoff Success
Newest talent to NHLHS, Brandon Macdonald, discusses the success of the Boston Bruins and why they are heading into the semi-finals of the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It was a playoff series that featured the world’s best goaltender and one of the rising stars on the backend. The majority of experts, when making their playoff picks, chose the Buffalo Sabres to roll over the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs.
Things did not go as planned, as they rarely do, and the Bruins were able to pass the Sabres in six games without the help of number one center and offensive playmaker Marc Savard. ‘Savvy’, who is a large piece of the Bruins puzzle, has been out since March 7, when Penguins’ forward Matt Cooke threw the infamous check that led to Savard missing the remaining games of the regular season and well into these playoffs as he still hasn’t returned.

The 2009-10 Boston Bruins
NHLHS writer Christopher Nardi takes a look back at the 2009-10 Boston Bruins.
The Boston Bruins began the 2009-2010 season full of promise. They had shown, over the last two years that they were a team full of potential, full of scoring young players, and had a coach that was able to channel their desire to succeed into real results during the season. After a crushing defeat in seven games against their historic rivals, the Montreal Canadiens, the Bruins came into the 2008-2009 with the slogan “We Want It”, and it showed. The Bruins finished second overall in the standings, one point under the Sharks, and would have won the president’s trophy had it not been for Manny Fernandez’ weak play against Buffalo in game 81.
