I guess you had problems with Scott Stevens too. He was always hurting people with his very questionable hits, many of which were in fact dirty, although allowed. If he was playing now you can guarantee he would have been suspended multiple times…But the difference is that Stevens is known as a tough as nails player and people loves his hits…Would people think different of him now? Maybe, but those are the same knuckleheads, like yourself, all over OV. This is hockey not touch football!!! The game was fine back then, fine in the 50s etc, and is fine now!
while we’re at it, why not eliminate all the protective equipment? why do goalies have to wear masks? why do players have to wear helmets?
if you seriously think the way the game was played in the 50′s is fine for today, lets lose all the protective equipment that has since been brought into the game.
it’s knuckleheads like you that make hockey look like a neanderthal sport.
While the Oilers have fallen on hard times, 'The Kid Line' has been integral in helping the club's poor PP of last year improve immensely. Right now, it is the only successful aspect in Edmonton's game.

I have to say that you are far off with your comment.
Alex Ovechkin is a dirty player, who is a repeat offender. He throws his knees out more then a 70 year old with osteoporosis.
He belongs in the categories of Matt Cooke, Patrick Kaleta, Marty McSorley, Scott Stevens, etc.
Players who were “dirty”.
You should read the head shots article.
Ovie needs to change his style to his game or he will not surpass a career of six years.
