Great first article Kevin!
I am really happy that the Stars took action and started to commit to a rebuild. With their talented young forwards mixed into a strong veteran core they still will be competitive without the big names of Modano, Turco and I guess Lehtinen.
Funny how a team could go from the Western Conference, sign Sean Avery and blame him for their downfall only to stink it up without him. It seemed like the old regime really needed to play a certain way and were stuck in that way until they no longer were elite players.
Maybe that last Cup run was their last hoorah and the new generation of Glennie, Benn, Neil, Campbell, etc will carry them back into a Western powerhouse.
Appreciate it!
I agree that the team in the recent past had a tunnel vision on playing a certain way and didn’t want to rattle the cage. and the future looks really good as we have good defensive forwards but these guys can put the puck in the net, entertain, and win games in an exciting way. thats good all around.
as for Sean Avery, no comment
(thats what he should have said lol)
